The ZipFlyer at Sarangkot, operated by HighGround Adventures, holds the record as the world's steepest and one of the longest ziplines. With a 56° incline and a vertical drop of 600 meters over 1.8 kilometers, this is not your average zipline — it's a high-speed aerial descent with jaw-dropping Himalayan views.
Starting from a platform high above Sarangkot, you'll launch into a ride that accelerates rapidly, reaching speeds of up to 140 km/h. As you zoom through the air, you'll have panoramic views of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and the verdant Seti River valley stretching below.
The entire experience is over in about 90 seconds, but those 90 seconds will stay with you forever. It's the perfect blend of extreme thrill and natural beauty — quintessentially Nepal.

Year-Round Operation: The ZipFlyer operates throughout the year, with brief closures only during severe weather conditions. However, certain seasons offer better experiences than others.
Autumn (October-November): Perfect conditions with crystal-clear skies and stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas. The post-monsoon clarity makes this the ideal time for photos and maximum visibility.
Spring (March-May): Excellent weather with comfortable temperatures. The hillsides are vibrant with blooming rhododendrons, adding color to your aerial journey.
Winter (December-February): Operations continue on clear days. Cooler temperatures at altitude but equally thrilling. Morning flights often have the best visibility.
Monsoon (June-September): Reduced operations due to rain and low clouds. If conditions permit, morning flights may still run, but expect potential delays or cancellations.
Arrive at the HighGround Adventures office in Lakeside Pokhara. Complete registration, sign waivers, and have your weight verified for harness assignment.
Board the shuttle for the scenic 30-minute drive up to the Sarangkot launch platform. Enjoy the winding mountain road and building anticipation.
At the platform, receive your harness fitting and a thorough safety briefing. The crew demonstrates the flying position and braking technique.
Step onto the launch platform, hook in, and when you're ready — launch! Within seconds, you'll be accelerating down the mountainside.
Experience 1.8 km of high-speed flight. Feel the wind rush past as you reach speeds up to 140 km/h with the Himalayas as your backdrop. Pure exhilaration.
The automatic braking system brings you to a smooth stop at the lower platform. Collect your photos and videos, then shuttle back to Lakeside.
The ZipFlyer can reach speeds of up to 140 km/h (87 mph), depending on rider weight and wind conditions. It's one of the fastest ziplines in the world.
The launch is the most intense moment as you build speed quickly. After that, most riders describe it as exhilarating rather than scary — the views are so spectacular that fear transforms into awe.
The ZipFlyer is a single-rider experience. However, you can fly one after another with friends or family, and the viewing platform allows spectators to watch the flights.
Wear comfortable, fitted clothing and closed-toe shoes. Avoid loose items that could fly off. The harness goes over your clothes, so nothing too bulky. Sunglasses with a secure strap are recommended.
Plan for about 2-3 hours from Lakeside, including transportation, briefing, the flight (about 90 seconds), and return. The actual flight is short but unforgettable.
